It seems inescapable. Our own childhood memories at times tend to collide with those of our children. Such was the case recently when Boyd M made one of my childhood memories come true for Trey and Samantha.
Let me take you back to an episode of The Brady Bunch where the Brady family takes a vacation to the Grand Canyon. Along the way, they get lost in a ghost town, Bobby gets lost (as usual), finds an Indian boy in the dessert and the family befriends the tribe of Native American Indians. The highlight of that episode was when the Brady kids each get their very own Indian name, given to them by their new friends during a fireside ceremony in the canyon. Ever since that show, I have dreamed of getting my own ceremonial Indian name.
Last week, Daddy presented Trey and Samantha with their very own Indian names along with framed original art by Daddy and a one-of-a-kind necklace with their new name written in Chinese lette
ring (designed by Daddy)!
