This semester, Trey and Samantha started an after school Mandarin Chinese
program. Their teacher is following the PinYin method which uses Roman letters to represent sounds in Standard Mandarin Chinese. Samantha seems to have a genuine interest in learning the new language. Trey.... not so much, although he has an excellent ear for it.

Origami is the traditional Japanese art of paper folding.
Ori means "folding", and kami meaning "paper"; kami changes to gami due to voicing. Trey seems to enjoy the challenges that come with paper folding. His most recent creation seen below (turn volume way up, and you may still struggle to hear him but you'll get to enjoy seeing his shape-shifting origami.):

I'm excited about the kids learning Chinese. Way to go! Maybe we can have a little conversation when I get home? Keneng? We'll see what I can remember after 16 years. (OMGosh!)
