Granddad's Work

Mandarin Chinese and Japanse Origami 折り紙

This semester, Trey and Samantha started an after school Mandarin Chinese program. Their teacher is following the PinYin method which uses Roman letters to represent sounds in Standard Mandarin Chinese. Samantha seems to have a genuine interest in learning the new language. Trey.... not so much, although he has an excellent ear for it.

27 Days of Learning

That is exactly how many days Trey and Sam have been “in school” in the last 27 days. Despite a nearly three week holiday from school from December 17 through January 4, and three “snow days” this week and counting, learning continues. Highlights include:

Interpretive Dancer

Samantha has been dancing all over the house preparing for her latest dance program which was this afternoon! Below is a clip of one the three dances she and her "Dancing beauties" performed, choreographed by extraordinary dance teacher Mrs. Cinnamon!
